We are glad to welcome you to our website! We have been planning and working toward this goal for some time. It is good to be here and to be able to reach out to one another in this way.
Because this is our first post, I thought it would be good to use it to give a brief overview of the website and plans for the future. First of all, let’s talk about the name – thewhitehousechurchofchrist.com. The use of the word “the” is not meant to be arrogant or insulting! There are several churches that go by the name Whitehouse church of Christ (in Tennessee, Texas, etc.). Naturally, because they have been on the internet for many years, they took all the good domain names! Since most folks refer to this congregation as “the Whitehouse,” we figured putting a “the” on the front of our name made sense. We’re not the only one, but we are the Whitehouse church of Christ!
The Home page of our website gives just a general introduction to us and records basic information. You can find links to our YouTube channel, Facebook page, and a simple link to our Livestream when services are taking place. Our physical address, e-mail address, schedule of services, list of upcoming events, and a map of our location are also here. The menu at the top of the page will take you to other parts of our site.
The About page tells visitors what they may expect when attending our Bible classes or worship services. At present, there is information at the top of the page relating to coronavirus precautions. The About button also give links to other pages.
The Leadership page features pictures of our elders, deacons, and preacher. The History page will give a record of the history of this congregation. We hope to have it updated soon. The Map page is simply a larger version of the map found on the Home page.
The Events page will list upcoming events.
The Sermons page is an archive of sermons and Bible class lessons delivered at the Whitehouse. Each sermon is identified by title, date, topic, and speaker. Clicking on an individual sermon will lead to a page with YouTube video, audio file (that can be streamed or downloaded), and outline of the sermon (.pdf).
The Bible Studies page is still a work in progress. It will link to different pages with various lessons – studies of books of the Bible, series on various topics, single lessons, VBS series, and devotionals. Soon, we hope to have a page dedicated to podcasts and daily devotionals.
The Blog page is where this post, and others like it will be found.
The Contact Us page gives our contact information – physical address, e-mail address, Facebook page, and map to our location. It also allows the use of a form for simple contact.
We hope that this website is of service to the congregation and to others who may visit. There are still many things to be added and improvements to be made. Thanks for checking it out. Come back soon as we continue to grow!
